Day 1: Flight from Athens to Zanzibar
Flight to the tropical paradise of Zanzibar, with a layover. JAMBO – KARIBU! Arrival at Stone Town Airport in the early hours of the second day. Transfer to our hotel and immediate check-in.
Day 2: Zanzibar, Stone Town tour
Breakfast, followed by a tour of Stone Town with its rich history, buildings reflecting diverse architectural and cultural influences, cobblestone alleys, and carved balconies. During the tour, you will visit the Cathedral, the slave market, the Sultan’s Palace, the old Arab fortress, the fruit and vegetable market, and Forodani Park, and you’ll wander through the narrow alleys famous for their intricately carved wooden doors, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the hotel and enjoy free time to visit the city’s open-air market or take part in some of the excellent optional activities, such as:
- Visit a spice garden to learn more about the magical world of herbs
- Explore the infamous Prison Island, which was once used as a quarantine island and slave prison. Today it is a tourist destination with a stunning beach where you can see the giant Aldabra tortoises
- Discover the enchanting beaches and underwater world of Nakupenda Island
- Enjoy the Safari Blue water adventure to discover some of the best shores of Menai Bay and the island of Kuale
Day 3: Zanzibar – Tanzania National Park
Breakfast. Pickup from the hotel at noon and transfer to the airport for the flight to the National Park. Arrival and meeting with our local ranger. In specially designed 4x4 jeeps, you’ll set off on an unforgettable wildlife safari in the African savanna. Elephants, lions, giraffes, wildebeests, buffalo, gazelles, antelopes, and baboons await you in their natural habitat, amidst enchanting trails lined with shrubs and baobab trees. The safari concludes with a magical bush sundowner, specially designed for you to enjoy the sunset amidst African nature. Transfer & dinner at the Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Tanzania National Park - Zanzibar
Wake up before dawn for a morning safari in the footsteps of Africa’s great predators. Tracking animals in the dark, followed by the unique experience of the sunrise, will be an unforgettable memory. Return to the hotel for breakfast, followed by a river safari to see hippos, crocodiles, and a large variety of birdlife. Lunch at the hotel and final moments of relaxation at the lodge’s facilities on the shores of the Indian Ocean before being transferred to the airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar. Arrival and road transfer to your beachfront hotel.
Day 5: Zanzibar (free day, optional excursion to Mnemba Atoll)
Breakfast and a free day to enjoy your hotel’s facilities and the beaches of Zanzibar. For snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts, the island offers over 30 dive sites where you can enjoy stunning coral reefs and unique marine life, such as stingrays, turtles, and whale sharks. The top spot for underwater exploration is the Mnemba Atoll, northeast of Zanzibar. Choose the optional excursion to be enchanted by the exotic beauty of the islet.
Day 6: Zanzibar (free day, optional excursion to Jozani National Park)
Breakfast. For kitesurfing enthusiasts, the island’s eastern coast (Paje, Jambiani) is a true paradise. Alternatively, we recommend visiting Jozani National Park, famous for its endemic Columbus monkeys. You’ll admire impressive trees and plants and discover the magical world of the island’s lush vegetation as you walk along the wooden boardwalk.
Day 7: Zanzibar (free day, optional visit to the villages and beaches of Kendwa & Nungwi)
Breakfast. Today we recommend visiting the beautiful beaches of Kendwa and Nungwi on the island’s northwest coast, where you can discover excellent entertainment options, dining with local and seafood delicacies, and water activities. Here you will witness perhaps the best sunset of your trip.
Days 8–9: Zanzibar – Return Flight
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Transfer to Zanzibar Airport. Return flight via Addis Ababa. Arrival in Greece the next day, filled with experiences, images, and colors from Africa.
