DAY 1: FLIGHT TO NAPLES - FIRST ACQUAINTANCE
Meeting at Macedonia airport for our flight to Naples. Upon arrival and collection of our luggage, we board the bus for the drive to the city centre and get a first taste of the city, then check in to our hotel. Don't miss the opportunity to taste the finest and most authentic pizza in the world.
DAY 2: NAPLES - CITY TOUR - RESURRECTION IN AN ORTHODOX CHURCH
After waking up and having breakfast, the first walk in Naples is through the streets of its historic centre, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The picturesque streets, majestic churches, small shops, traditional pizzerias and underground galleries will overwhelm you and perhaps make you get lost, but here that's the point... Walking along the bustling Spaccanapoli, the main narrow street that divides the city in two, you'll find a good reason to stop at almost every corner. Here a visit to the Gothic Duomo Cathedral, dedicated to the patron saint San Gennaro (Saint January) is a must.The walk continues southwards and leads us to Piazza Mu- nicipio where we find Castel Nuovo, the imposing medieval castle that was a royal residence and a place of residence for artists and intellectuals. In the evening we will transfer to the Orthodox Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul to witness the Resurrection.
DAY 3: NAPLES - EXCURSION TO POMPEII ROME
Waking up early in the morning, we have a good breakfast, check out and head to the oldest Roman city, Pompeii. In one of the most important attractions in Italy, located in the Campania region, it invites you to indulge in a journey into the historical past of the place that will fill you with unprecedented images and unfold a cultural wealth that survived and emerged from the ashes of Vesuvius. We will see, among other things, the Porta Marina, the ancient market, the theatre, the temples of Zeus and Apollo, the baths, the luxurious villas with their famous frescoes (1st century BC), which provide us with a complete picture of the painting of the ancient world. We then board the bus to head to the Eternal City, Rome; on the way to our hotel, we will get a first glimpse of the historic centre.
DAY 4: ROME - CITY TOUR
After a good breakfast our day will start with a panoramic tour of the symbol city that has never ceased to fascinate every visitor. We will see Villa Borghese, the Aurelian Wall, Barberini Square, Trajan's Column, the famous Colosseum, the largest surviving ancient Roman building in the world, the Capitoline Hill, where ancient Rome was founded, the ancient marketplace, the Arch of Constantine the Great, the imposing Piazza Venezia with the monument to Victor Emmanuel, the Palatine Hill, a place dotted with ancient temples, statues and ruins - indeed, the upper classes of the city and several emperors were based here - and the Tiber River with the island of Tiberina. In the afternoon return to the hotel. For the evening we suggest you try handmade pasta in one of the many traditional trattorias in the centre.
DAY 5: ROME - FONDAN DI TREVI - WALK IN THE SQUARES
Early in the morning and after breakfast, we will start with one of the most beautiful and charming sights in Rome, the famous Fontana di Trevi where we can toss a coin making a wish, which according to tradition will bring us back to Rome. A little further on is the famous Piazza di Spagna, where the famous fashion shows take place. Next is the Pantheon, a pagan temple more than 2000 years old, dedicated to all the gods, so well preserved that it is still considered today, one of the most important architectural buildings in the Western world.Next we will see the Palazzo Montecitorio or the Parliament of Rome where the original column of Hadrian is located. We will then pass by the beautiful and charming Navona square which is filled with restaurants and outdoor painters. This was the site of sporting events in the 1st century AD. In the square we will admire the three fountains with the most impressive being the famous Fountain of Bernini, of the four rivers with each of the statues representing a river from a different continent. Free time for dinner or drinks in the famous square which at night is bustling with life. Don't miss the chance to try the traditional Italian bread-sweet Panettone For the evening, don't miss the opportunity to have an aperol, trying tiramisu in Navona square.
DAY 6: ROME - FREE TIME - OPTIONAL EXCURSION TO TIVOLI - RETURN FLIGHT
After having our last breakfast there will be free time to say goodbye to the city of Rome, walking through its shopping streets, which are full of chic shops and fashion boutiques of top designers, most notably Via Sistina and Via Condotti (Rome's Fifth Avenue) and Via del Babuino where the mix of high fashion and antique products makes it one of Rome's most elegant streets, or else we suggest you join us on a beautiful excursion to Tivoli and Villa D'Este, one of the most important Renaissance villas in Italy, with its famous gardens with 1000 fountains and the headquarters of the hydrographic department of the University of Rome. In the gardens of the villa we will enjoy the fountain of the musical instrument with its waterfalls, the fountain of Rome and Tivoli that communicate with each other through the corridor of a hundred fountains, the fountain of the owl and the one of the dragons. Furthermore, we will also see the country house of Emperor Hadrian, which has a large open-air museum of reconstructions of the emperor's favourite buildings. We will then transfer to the airport for our return flight. Arrival in our city with the best impressions.
