DAY 1:Departure & Arrival in Tbilisi
Meeting at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport and flight to Tbilisi.
DAY 2:Arrival in Tbilisi - City tour
Arrival at Tbilisi International Airport at 03:45, where you will be met and welcomed by a representative of our company. Transfer to the hotel in the city centre. Upon arrival, followed by check-in at the hotel and overnight stay. Starting our day with breakfast at the hotel, we will follow a full day tour of Tbilisi. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia, filled with historical monuments and modern elements. We will discover the old town, filled with traditional architecture, narrow streets, lively markets, and traditional houses with wooden balconies overlooking the Kura River. We will also visit the Peace Bridge, an iconic, modern structure made of glass and steel, which connects the two sides of the Mtskvari River, symbolizing peace and unity in Georgia. Still, we will visit the Sulphur Baths, historic baths with sulphur waters, and the Narikala Fortress, enjoying the panoramic view of the city from the fortress. During the tour, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 3:Ananuri - Georgian-Russian military road - Kazbegi
After breakfast at the hotel, we start a unique drive along the famous Georgian Military Road, one of the most impressive routes in the Caucasus, full of history and unparalleled natural beauty. Our first stop is the Ananuri Fortress, a 16th-17th century architectural jewel, recognized by UNESCO, standing proudly on the banks of the Aragvi River, offering unique views and a taste of the region's medieval past. We continue our journey towards the majestic mountains of the Greater Caucasus, stopping at the Zinvali Dam, where we will enjoy the spectacular scenery of the meeting of the two rivers, the White Aragvi and the Black Aragvi. The image of the contrasting waters creates a magnificent natural setting, ideal for relaxation and photography. In the afternoon, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, sampling authentic Georgian flavours. After lunch, we head to Gudauri, the famous mountain resort at an altitude of 2,000 meters, known for its charming atmosphere and unique views of the snow-capped peaks of the Caucasus. Here, we will have time to enjoy the fresh mountain air and lose ourselves in the magic of the landscape. Our day ends with the arrival in Kazbegi, a breathtaking region with its natural beauty. Under the shadow of the imposing Mount Kazbek, we enjoy the serenity of the landscape and the feeling of being in one of the most enchanting destinations in Georgia. Overnight at the hotel, ready for new adventures the next day.
DAY 4:Mtskheta - Jwari Monastery - Gori - Uplishchike
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia, a place that seems to have sprung from the pages of history. We will visit the impressive church of Svetitskhoveli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then we will climb the hill dominated by the Tzvari Monastery, from where we will have a stunning view of the confluence of the Mtskvari and Aragvi rivers. Next is the town of Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, where we will visit the Stalin Museum. Finally, we will move to Uplische, an ancient cave city with temples and a network of underground passages one of the most important cultural and religious hubs of ancient Georgia. Uplishchike is an ancient cave complex dating back to the 2nd millennium BC. We will explore the impressive carved buildings, including temples, dwellings and even an ancient theatre. The view from the top of the cliff is panoramic, with the river and valleys stretching out below. In the evening, we'll enjoy dinner at a local restaurant with traditional music and a dance program. After dinner, we will transfer to Tsminda Sameba Cathedral for the Easter service. Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 5:Kakheti
After breakfast, we will set off for a full day excursion to Georgia's famous wine producing region of Kakheti. During the day we will tour the vineyards and wineries, attend a master class in Georgian food preparation, wine tasting with local varieties, and enjoy lunch in a traditional setting. Then, we will return to Tbilisi.
DAY 6:Free day in Tbilisi
Tbilisi is a city that uniquely combines tradition with modern life, and a free day is the perfect opportunity to discover the city at your own pace. After breakfast, you can begin exploring the historic centre, where you'll find narrow streets lined with traditional taverns and unique craft shops. Start with a stroll to the Town Hall, and head to the Victory Arch, from where you will enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the surrounding mountains. If you love history, visit the National Museum of Agriculture to learn more about the country's rich cultural heritage. Don't miss a visit to the sulphur water bath in the old part of the town, in the area of Argion Loutra. Here, you can enjoy a traditional Georgian bath, ideal for relaxation and well-being. The town is full of beautiful cafes and restaurants, so you can try Georgian dishes such as khachapuri and khinkali. End the day with a walk along the river of Mtkvari, enjoying the sunset and the atmosphere of the town. A free day in Tbilisi offers you the opportunity to discover the city without a schedule and experience the pulse of local life.
DAY 7:Return to Athens with Sky Express
Early morning departure for Tbilisi airport and return flight. We arrive in Athens with our luggage full of memories and experiences.
