Description

The soil of Tanzania has preserved and revealed to date the best and richest traces of the first anthropomorphic beings about 2 million years ago. Today, in the country dominated by the imposing mount of Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) with its snow-capped peaks, Tanzania is host to more than 120 tribes , who keep their customs intact and live by practicing their traditional activities. However, the biggest attraction of the trip is Zanzibar with its beaches, picturesque fishing villages, the old Arab buildings of the city and the green countryside with plantations of palm trees and cloves. A journey full of smells and whispers.

Day 1 | Athens - Zanzibar

Day 2 | Zanzibar

Stone Town is the old town of the island and is its Cultural center and selected as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Morning tour of the city with its particularly mysterious style and the remnants of the Arab influence. Old houses, narrow alleys and markets smelling of spices, are some of the sights we will admire. If you don't get enough of our tour, you can make the personal visits that interest you, your free afternoon

Day 3 | Zanzibar
Day 3 | Zanzibar

Today we will take a nice excursion to Prison Island. The island was uninhabited until 1860, when the first Sultan of Zanzibar donated it to two Arabs who used it to house/imprison slaves before sending them abroad or selling them in the Stone Town Slave Market. It then changed ownership and was used as a quarantine island for those infected with yellow fever.

Today the island is a tourist destination and has a stunning beach and a protected area for Aldabra giant tortoises which were originally donated to the governor of Zanzibar by the governor of Seychelles. Afternoon free.

Day 4 | Zanzibar
Day 4 | Zanzibar

Cool off on one of the island's tropical beaches that surround the city with fine white-gold sand and emerald waters with coral formations, relaxing to the sounds of African rhythms

Day 5 | Zanzibar - Arusha - Lake Manyara
Day 5 | Zanzibar - Arusha - Lake Manyara

Immediately after breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight to picturesque Arusha. Departure for the first Safari Park on our trip, Lake Manyara which gathers a large number of rare birds and reptiles. Then we will start for our first acquaintance with wild animals!

Day 6 | Lake Manyara - Serengeti
Day 6 | Lake Manyara - Serengeti

Today's route will bring us to Tanzania's most famous park, the Serengeti. Although less dramatic than the next, it gathers a crowd of wild animals. Various tribes, for whom time seems to have stopped in previous centuries, live in mud houses in the wider area and offer unrepeatable thrills. Our goal is to see the so-called "big 5": lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant and buffalo. The chances of seeing them all in one trip are small, if we consider that people who have ventured there many times have not succeeded. However if there is one chance, she only lives in the Serengeti and we won't let her go to waste! Overnight in the park.

Day 7 | Serengeti
Day 7 | Serengeti

The park covers 14,750 square kilometers and includes riparian forest and woodland plains and savannas. It is located in northwestern Tanzania and its northern edge reaches the border with Kenya. Another day to enjoy the full day safari and admire the wildlife.

Day 8 | Serengeti - Ngoro Ngoro
Day 8 | Serengeti - Ngoro Ngoro

After breakfast we continue to Ngoro Ngoro National Park. On our route we will have the opportunity to visit a village with the famous Maasai tribes and Olduvai, the so-called "cradle of humanity", since human fossils 2.5 million years old were discovered here. Arrival in Ngoro Ngoro and settling in our lodge. The fauna of Ngorongoro has the unique privilege of simultaneously hosting the four largest herbivores on the planet: elephants, hippos, buffaloes and rhinoceroses. Wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and antelope breed in large numbers on its grasslands, satisfying the appetites of lions and other felines. Herds of hyenas, baboons, ostriches and countless birds of all colors live there. The vast volcanic crater of the most primitive country in East Africa is where hundreds of thousands of animals migrate to find food. A multitude of feline reptiles and birds provide unforgettable moments during our afternoon safari, while the dramatic scenery completes the scene.

Day 9 | Ngoro Ngoro - Kilimanjaro - Athens
Day 9 | Ngoro Ngoro - Kilimanjaro - Athens

A few hours free and then, leaving the savannah behind us, we head to Kilimanjaro airport, from where we will fly to Greece via Doha. Overnight at the airport.
