Day 1: Flight to Basel – Lake Titisee – Freiburg – Heidelberg
Meet at the airport and fly to Basel. Upon arrival, we will begin our panoramic tour of Basel. Departure for the enchanting Lake Titisee, in the idyllic landscape of the Black Forest, with its dense forests, tranquil lakes, and wooden chalets reminiscent of postcards. Free time for a walk along the lake shore or coffee with a view of the mountains. We then head to Freiburg, the beautiful university town considered the "gateway to the Black Forest." Nikos Kazantzakis lived and studied here, drawing inspiration from German philosophy. We will see the impressive Cathedral, the characteristic Bächle water channels that run through the cobbled alleys, and the lively Münsterplatz with its open-air markets. Departure for romantic Heidelberg, city of poets and philosophers. Arrival, check-in at the hotel, and free time for a first stroll or dinner at one of the city's traditional restaurants.
Day 2: Heidelberg – City Tour
Breakfast and departure for a guided tour of beautiful Heidelberg, one of the most romantic cities in Europe and home to Germany's oldest university (1386). We will visit the imposing Heidelberg Palace, built on the slopes of the Königstuhl hill, and enjoy the panoramic view of the Neckar River. Then, we will stroll across the Neckar Bridge with its statue of Athena, along the picturesque Hauptstraße pedestrian street, and visit the churches of the Holy Spirit and the University. Free time for coffee, a walk, or shopping in the city's elegant stores. In the evening, we recommend dinner or beer in one of Heidelberg's historic beer halls.
Day 3: Excursion to Frankfurt
Breakfast and departure for imperial Frankfurt, the economic and cultural center of Germany. Tour of historic Römerberg, with its medieval wooden houses, St. Bartholomew's Cathedral, and the old town. Free time to stroll along the banks of the Main River, shop, or have coffee at one of the city's modern cafés.
Return to Heidelberg in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Heidelberg - Strasbourg - The Heart of Alsace
Breakfast and departure for beautiful Strasbourg, capital of Alsace and seat of the European Parliament. During the tour, we will visit the fairytale Petite France, with its wooden houses and picturesque canals, the Voban Dam, the impressive Cathedral (150 m) and the elegant Rohan Palace. Free time for a stroll, photos, or lunch at one of the old town's characteristic bistros.
We recommend discovering the magic of Strasbourg on an idyllic cruise on the River Ill. The boat crosses the historic city center, passing through the picturesque "Petite France" with its traditional wooden houses and narrow canals, before heading to the European quarter, home to the European Parliament and the Council of Europe. The trip takes about an hour and offers a comfortable and romantic experience that combines history, architecture, and natural beauty. Transfer to the hotel, check-in, and time to enjoy the illuminated Alsatian capital in the evening.
Day 5: Colmar – Riquewihr – Eguisheim
Breakfast and departure for picturesque Colmar, the "heart of the Alsatian vineyards." We will tour Little Venice, see the characteristic Pfister House, St. Martin's Cathedral, and the statue of Frédéric Bartholdi, creator of the Statue of Liberty. We then continue to the famous wine villages of Riquewihr and Eguisheim, known for their medieval pastel houses, flower-filled narrow streets, and vineyards that produce the finest white wines of Alsace. Tour and time for a stroll, photos, and sampling local products. Return to Strasbourg in the afternoon and free time for dinner or an evening stroll in the historic center.
