The places referred to in the Old and New Testaments as Holy Places are specifically the "Pilgrimages of the Holy Sepulcher", as it was decided to call the pilgrimages in official Christian antiquities. In other words, the locations of Christ's actions, the homes of His ancestors, and the establishment of the first Christian Church, which continues to this day. These sites have historical and religious significance. They are also a source of interest for anyone with a spiritual or historical quest. We have the opportunity to learn more about the unique history and culture of these peoples because the aforementioned are currently located in areas under the control of Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The Holy Places still have a special importance for Greek Orthodox pilgrims, being among the holiest places of pilgrimage.
