Über das Reiseziel

Paradiesisch ist auf Mauritius nicht nur das kontrastreiche Wechselspiel zwischen weißen Sandstränden, glasklarem Wasser, satter Vegetation und vulkanischen Bergmassiven. Die Insel ist von einem Korallenriff umgeben, das ein perfektes Revier für Schnorchler und Taucher bietet und gleichzeitig die feinsandigen Strände vor der Brandung schützt. Sehenswert sind auch die malerischen Städte wie Mahébourg oder Port Louis mit ihren Märkten, Häfen, Museen und Cafés, oder die berühmten botanischen Gärten von Pamplemousses. Mauritius liegt südlich des Äquators und die zwei Jahreszeiten, Sommer und Winter, sind den europäischen entgegengesetzt. Das Klima ist relativ mild und auch während der heißen Sommermonate erträglich. Badeurlaub ist das ganze Jahr über möglich, als angenehmste Reisemonate gelten jedoch Mai bis Juni und September bis November. Für Taucher empfiehlt sich Dezember bis April, für Surfer Juni bis August.
