DAY 1 | FLIGHT TO BERLIN - HOTEL CHECK-IN - CHRISTMAS MARKET ALEXANDERPLATZ
Meeting at the airport and flight to Berlin. Upon arrival at the airport, we will be met by our local guide, a resident of Berlin, who will ensure that we have an unforgettable experience in the German capital. On the way to the hotel, he will give us the first necessary information and then we will check in to the hotel.In the evening visit the most iconic Christmas market, that of Alexanderplatz. In the heart of the city, this huge square is transformed into a winter wonderland with a huge ice rink, a towering Christmas tree and a unique carousel for children and young people at its heart.One of the most special squares in the world, in front of the towering TV tower, one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the world.
DAY 2 | BERLIN - CITY TOUR "PANORAMA OF PARCHMENT" - SHOPPING
We have a good breakfast at the hotel and set off for a city tour. Through the harmonious coexistence of historical and modern architecture, historical moments have evolved that have shaped the current image of modern Berlin. From the Brandenburg Gate to Karl Marx Avenue, monuments from the royal era alternate with socialist realism buildings from the city's communist past, while near the Checkpoint Charly Pass, the remains of the wall transport you back to the events of the Cold War. Crossing the imposing boulevard of 17 June, you enjoy views of the city's central park, the Tiergarten. Afterwards, we will move to the "island of museums" and visit the famous "Panorama of Pergamon",where the tour will be guided with headphones in Greek. There, one of the largest collections of Greek Antiquities is available to visitors in a fascinating way, the most modern 3D technology. Thus, visitors can be transported back to 129 BC and "walk" through ancient Pergamum. Free time in the city centre. Berlin's shopping centres are scattered throughout the city and easily accessible to those who wish to do their shopping. They are mainly located near Unter den Linden and the streets perpendicular to it, such as Frieddrichstrasse, but also in Kurfurstendam, Charlottenburg or Potsdamer Platz. Berlin's best known department store is the KaDeWe on Kurfustendam. The Galleries Lafayette, the French department store, with its architecturally impressive cone in the centre, and the luxurious Quartier 206, ω on Friedrichstrasse, are also worth a visit.
DAY 3 | BERLIN - POTTSDAM - SANS-SOUSSE - CHRISTMAS MARKETS
After breakfast we will depart for historic Potsdam, where the royal palaces of Kaiser Wilhelm and Frederick II dominate. After passing through streets with particular historical events and Cold War dramas, such as the Bridge of Spies, and beautiful places like the Havel Wetlands, we arrive in Potsdam, located 26 km southwest of Berlin, crossed by the Havel River and the capital of the German state of Brandenburg. It is an important part of European cultural history, and its main feature is the San Susi palace complex, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Another landmark of Potsdam is the Dutch Quarter built between 1733-1742 by immigrant craftsmen, and the Russian Quarter with its artistic wooden houses and picturesque gardens. We then return to our hotel. In the afternoon, wander through Berlin's squares transformed into Christmas villages. The Weihnachtsmarkt, as the locals call it, is not just a market; it's an experience, a cherished tradition that brings together families, friends and strangers. Few people in the world love Christmas markets as much as the Germans. Now we do too !
DAY 4 | BERLIN - DRESDEN (OPTIONAL EXCURSION)
Optional excursion to "Florence of the North", as Dresden is otherwise called, which is located in eastern Germany, in the Free State of Saxony. We will see the fine buildings, of Baroque and Renaissance architectural style, such as the Zwinger Opera House, Honor of the palaces of the kings of Saxony with its beautiful garden and halls that today host the exhibitions of the old masters of painters, and the museum of blue porcelain. We will also see the beautiful Frauenkirche women's church and other attractions. Free time and return in the evening to Berlin. (Optional tour cost: 80€)
DAY 5 | BERLIN - FREE TIME IN THE CITY CENTRE - RETURN FLIGHT
Breakfast at our hotel and free time in the city centre. Tour the unique "Hackesche Hofe" courtyards in the centre of Berlin, always very busy. You can still enjoy the nice atmosphere around the Savignyplatz square, with its many cafes and restaurants.We also recommend a visit to the open-air Museum of the Topography of Terror, located where the SS and Gestapo headquarters once stood and where the Berlin Wall later passed through. Today you'll find an exhibition that tells the story of the Second World War, as well as the period of Berlin's partition. In the afternoon we will transfer to the airport for our return flight.
