Pilgrimage Tour Cairo - Alexandria

06/10 SUNDAY : THESSALONIKI - ATHENS - CAIRO

Meeting at 19:20 at "Macedonia" airport in Thessaloniki and with an Aegean Air flight we depart for Athens and then for Cairo. Arrival in Cairo at 01:50. Upon arrival, our representatives take care of the formalities and transfer to our hotel. Settling into the rooms. Overnight stay.

07/10 MONDAY : CAIRO

Breakfast and departure for the old town of Cairo where we will visit the Church of St. George the Trophy Bearer, a pilgrimage site of the Arab world, Christian and Muslim. Here is also the Holy Cave where the Holy Family was hosted during their flight to Egypt. Visit to the Egyptian Museum of Culture. We continue to the Giza Plateau, where the pyramids of Cheops, Mycerinus, Hefrinus and the famous Sphinx, a depiction of Hefrinus in the body of a lion, are located. After a short stop at the Papyrus and perfume workshops, we will have lunch at a Cairo restaurant. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.

08/10 TUESDAY : CAIRO- ALEXANDRIA

Breakfast and departure for Alexandria, the beautiful capital of the Ptolemies. Arrival in Alexandria and panoramic tour - guided tour of the city. Crossing the coastal avenue (Cornish) we will visit the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, the Cathedral of St. Savvas, the house of Cavafy (optional) and the site of the famous library. Lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to the hotel. Settle in the rooms. Overnight stay.

09/10 WEDNESDAY : ALEXANDRIA - CAIRO

Attendance of the Divine Liturgy. Then we will attend the Patriarchate for the events dedicated to the birthday of His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon return to Cairo. Free time in a shopping mall.

10/10 THURSDAY : CAIRO- ATHENS - THESSALONIKI

Very early in the morning (01:00) departure for Cairo airport where we fly with Aegean Air at 04:00 to Athens and then to Thessaloniki. Arrival in Thessaloniki at 08:55.
