In the summer we travel to Zanzibar, to get to know the wonderful world of island Africa. Zanzibar is a dream for those looking for natural wealth, intense cultural diversity with a coral reef and exotic beaches. You can also opt for a 2-day national wildlife park safari to get a close-up look at the big game predators and vast savannahs of Tanzania.
Zanzibar is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean and is just a 20-minute flight off the coast of Tanzania. Stone Town, the capital, has a strong Arab element and was the spice center and main slave market of the East Coast. The fascinating old town is a maze of narrow streets, stately homes and colorful spice markets. To the North and South of Unguya, the main island of Zanzibar, are the islands of Pemba and Mafia, which offer excellent diving and are the ideal destination for those who want to relax. Zanzibar's southern coast is wilder, with miles of pristine beaches, spectacular coastal forests, estuaries and ancient Arab settlements
